ME review
Why Don’t You Come Up Sometime and See ME
a quote from Mae West to Cary Grant in She Done Him Wrong (1933)
Don Hertzfeldt graciously donated the three awesome images on the bottom from World of Tomorrow Episode 2: The Burden of Other People’s Thoughts (2017) to Adult Swim and Comedy 4, 2019.
Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar review
image: Brendon Small was a volunteer “telecon” guest in the world’s first ever Adult Swim college course in 2004; telecon in quotes as the video feed collapsed and we had to finish with just audio on a student’s cell phone for about 40 minutes, until his battery died. Below-a match lap dissolve example from my not accepted storyboard for the film.
The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart review
Per the shirt club, The Venture Bros. always have outstanding merch like a bed sheet set, or crazy one-offs such as telephoning in to their distributor in a VB character voice and you had an opportunity to purchase a VB ice cream cake.
Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm review
image: Adult Swim class telecon with creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis. They judged the costume contest-on the bottom left Matt chose Rectangle Square Guy and Dave chose Universal Remonster.
Holmes and Watson review
image: there was a proposed visit to campus by character Ron Burgundy for the release of Anchorman 2 (this was the first year of the world’s only Will Ferrell college course). Concurrent was my proposed bronze statue of Ron Burgundy to be located on the patio of the campus cafeteria-you and your friends can sit and have lunch with him on it, and attached is a plaque quote from Will about the importance of college.
Jon Glaser's Soothing Meditations for the Solitary Dog album review
image: Before the Adult Swim course was held in an auditorium, a smaller class in a teleconference with Jon Glaser of “Delocated.” Jon said he would talk to us for as long as we could keep the ski masks on. This was a great lesson in understanding what it’s like to work in an extreme costume for any length of time. No school funds were used, I, as Dali, purchased the 9’ party sub and ski masks for all, and the students provided their own artwork and skins bar.
Mister America (2019) and Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)
image: bottom-my custom Rosetti hat for the Tim and Eric Mandatory Attendance World Tour 2020 (they were spoofing the audience about a contagious disease just a few weeks before Covid hit, my last party night for a while); and top my custom shirt for the local Mister America film premiere.
Uncut Gems review
Cheeseburger Eddy Day in the Adam Sandler class. Terry Crews, fellow MAC conference alumnus and all around good guy, leaves multiple voice messages for the students about his infamous character in The Longest Yard (and talks of his current Sandler films, too).
